Alliance and its sister organization NORBIC
Together Are Building Stronger Business.
Together, Alliance for Illinois Manufacturing and NORBIC combine to make a powerful ally for Illinois businesses.
This strategic partnership benefits the thousands of companies who want to grow, expand and prosper – but are
not sure of what State, Local and Federal options are available to them.
For over 30 years, Chicago-based NORBIC has worked to revitalize the Northeast Illinois' manufacturing base,
retain and create jobs, and promote job growth and community advancement in the State of Illinois' Northeast
Economic Development Region. By leveraging the capabilities of its own programs with those of its partners,
it identifies manufacturer needs, creates solutions, and produces positive change.
NORBIC is funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Illinois Department of Commerce
and Economic Opportunity, and the City of Chicago. It operates as a 501 c (3) organization. NORBIC matches its
governmental funding with program income generated though its economic development activities and donations
from private foundations and corporate sponsors.
